Library Partner's With Day Care

The library will share story times and materials with Cougar's Den

The library and Cougar's Den, a local day care provider, have teamed up to benefit both entities. The library will provide on-site storytimes for children at the day care on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cougar's Den will bring children to the library for special storytimes on Wednesdays and Fridays. This arrangement provides plenty of opportunities for learning and discovery for the little kids. The library will also provide boxes of children's books to the day care. Children will be able to read and look at the books while at the day care. On holidays and other special events the day care children will perform songs and skits at the library.

This partnership is sure to benefit the whole community!

New Title Announced for All Iowa Reads

Little Wolves by Thomas Maltman will be the at the center discussions among hundreds of Iowans next year.
Set on the Minnesota prairie in the late 1980's during a drought season that’s pushing family farms to the brink, Little Wolves features the intertwining stories of a father searching for answers after his son commits a heinous murder, and a pastor’s wife (and washed-out scholar of early Anglo-Saxon literature) who has returned to the town for mysterious reasons of her own. A penetrating look at small-town America, Little Wolves weaves together elements of folklore and Norse mythology while being driven by a powerful murder mystery; a page-turning literary triumph.
